It is with a heavy heart for me to announce the withdrawal of my candidacy for Jefferson County Clerk of Court/Comptroller.  I received some devasting news on Friday about my husband’s (Stevie) health.  He has a rare blood disease called AL amyloidosis that has caused irreversible diastolic heart failure.  The best-case scenario is he has another year of life, and his remaining best days are right now.  Against Stevie’s wishes, I have decided to withdraw from the campaign to spend the rest of his best days with him.  This is the first time that I haven’t finished something I started, and I apologize for that because I know a lot of people believe in me.  This has been an amazing journey so thank you to my mentors and my supporters.
